FLYING A SECRET

I got here to hide. From equations and patterns. From repetition, after all.
Closed the door and got me a special place where I thought I could
somehow sit close to the stars. But I soon found out that the sky was
still opaque, no matter what the steps. And so I left. Again.

I thought, then, I could build me a different ceiling, a new-coloured scrap
of highness. And then make it work. Where I could dream, more than I sleep.
I have long decided that sleeping is overrated - that I know for sure. So I
take that time instead to travel the night alone and in the meantime I allow
myself to fly, unlike stated before... Yes, I like playing with paradox, to
expose the inside of words and the revelation of writing down the voice of a
silence. My adventurous, ever-walking silence.

So I came back. Here, within this quiet world, I intend to gather all my
things usually kept hidden or inactive. They are here to speak.

And since the future is a stand-by secret, I want to live by a precocious
clock, at every running instant of every entering second.

And I will not slow down until my "future exists now" - kind of reverse
quoting Jacob Bronowski.

Don't know if anyone ever told you but the Perfect Day is a Lou Reed's song day. In the dark, where your heart shines poetry.

Well, you know I've always loved you, don't you?

"2001" was the name: I used to go there so I could listen to you & some of your best friends to the best dancing sound ever. I was 17, the place was new and unsual, and the name 2001, in that different year '74, had a lot to tell me.

Yes, when you showed up in the night with your "wild side walk" that was my perfect moment. I just flew away and danced with you, both alone in the dark. God, I wish we were still dancing! It would mean the greatest times ever were still here, right by my side.

Those special times through music, when I could keep away from the crowd and just be there with you, in a strange, challenging, exclusive world. No stuff, man, just a couple of drinks, that amazing sound of yours and an outsider pair of wings. And I know you know what I mean - you were there...

Thank you, Lou... I miss you like hell... But you always knew I would, right?

You go and teach them damn well over there, ok?

Make them shine!

Passaram 14 anos, desde que comprei este livrinho, que nunca mais esqueci. O autor tinha 22.

E escrevia assim...

‎"Subo ao céu. É um céu parado e branco. Um lugar inexistente. E, novamente, o problema da cor, ou, melhor, da falta de cor; para pintar a verdade preciso de um branco para além deste que consigo, preciso do branco q há debaixo das coisas, no fim de um poema, na música que termina. Depois é necessário o máximo rigor, definir as fronteiras da luz. E tentar desenhar uma prisão para a ausência. Um céu de nada.(...) Para fabricar um céu exacto misturo no branco uma réstea de preto, quero vestir de cinza aquele ar sem asas. E é como se apenas essa cinza soubesse ser o branco que há.(...) É pintar de fim o tecto do quarto. Olho para a minha mão. Conduz a luz com atenção distraída, concentrada na sua viagem, e é essa viagem que a viaja, não o contrário. Utiliza a luz para contornar a noite, de modo a que esta não possa escapar-se. Olho o avesso de um coração. Um deus que não habitaremos,do qual não nos é permitido fazer casa."

It's been 14 years since I bought this small book, which I've never forgotten. The author was then 22.

And here's how he wrote...

‎"I rise to the sky. It's a still, white sky. A nonexistent place. And, again, the problem of colour, or, better said, of the lack of colour; to paint the truth I need a shade of white beyond the one I can achieve, I need the white that exists underneath things, in the end of a poem, in the music that ends. Then, the maximum thoroughness is necessary, it is necessary to define the boundaries of light. And trying to design a prison for absence. A sky of nothing.(...) For producing an exact sky I mix a ray of black into the white, I want to dress in grey (ash) that air with no wings. And it's as if only that grey (ash) knew how to be the white that exists. (...) Like painting the end in the bedroom ceiling. I look at my hand. It leads the light with distracted attention, concentrated on its voyage, and it is that voyage that travels it and not the opposite. A gratidão da macieira e a amnésia do gato
nunca pautaram o curso dos meus dias.
Fiquem onde estão!
foi a minha ordem para a macieira e para o gato,
ainda bem exteriores ao meu fraco por eles.

Salvei-os(e salvei-me!)de uma fábula
cuja moral necessariamente devia ser eu,o parlante
amigo de macieiras e conhecido de gatos.

Dá um certo desconforto malbaratar assim amigos
em dois reinos da natureza.
Mas também dá liberdade.

Há uma gente que desponta do outro lado do vale.
Está a correr para cá.
São os meus semelhantes.
Com eles vou desentender-me(mais que certo!),
mas a ideia que deles faço
é ainda um laço.

Here’s to the crazy ones.

Non, mon enfant chéri, ces trois lettres ne sont pas le serrement
de main de l'amante qui te quitte, c'est l'embrassement du frère
qui te reste. Ce sentiment-là est trop beau, trop pur, trop doux,
pour que j'éprouve jamais le besoin d'en finir avec lui. Que mon
souvenir n'empoisonne aucune des jouissances de ta vie, mais
ne laisse pas ces jouissances détruire et mépriser mon souvenir.

Sois heureux, sois aimé. Comment ne le serais-tu pas ? Mais
garde-moi dans un petit coin secret de ton coeur, et descends-y
dans tes jours de tristesse pour y trouver une consolation, ou un
encouragement.

Aime donc, mon Alfred, aime pour tout de bon.

Ménage-la, et ne la fais pas souffrir.

Le coeur d'une femme est une chose si délicate quand ce n'est
pas un glaçon ou une pierre !
